In Tel Aviv, Israel, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu declared on Saturday that Israel is determined to achieve victory in its conflict with Hamas militants in the Gaza Strip.
“No one will stop us — not The Hague, not the Axis of Evil and no one else. It is possible and necessary to continue until victory and we will do it“
Israel PM Netanyahu told a televised press conference as the war in Gaza moves into its 100th day on Sunday.
He alluded to a case presented to the highest court of the UN, the International Court of Justice in The Hague, which accuses Israel’s military campaign of violating the UN Genocide Convention. Additionally, he mentioned an alliance of armed groups supported by Iran in the Middle East, known as the Axis of Resistance.
He stated that the military operation in Gaza has significantly diminished the presence of Hamas forces. However, he emphasized that those displaced from northern Gaza wouldn’t be able to return home soon due to the ongoing danger and fighting in that area.
“There is an international law and it says a simple thing — you remove a population and you don’t allow it to return as long as the danger exists,” Israel PM Netanyahu said.
