During the show’s conclusion, Indiana resident Richard Goodall, 55, joined the band Journey for a performance.
Richard Goodall, the champion of “America’s Got Talent,” never lost confidence in his skills. After giving an intense performance of Journey’s classic song “Don’t Stop Believin’,” he won the title.
The singing caretaker Goodall told Fox News Digital that being on stage with Journey in the finale was an absolute dream and a major ‘bucket list’ accomplishment.
“There’s a bucket list, and then there’s a top-shelf bucket list you never even dream of,” Goodall said in wonder. “I got to reach that top shelf.”
He went on to express how honored he felt to win, especially as his life has been filled with unforgettable moments recently — from getting married to winning the million-dollar prize.
“Sky’s the limit. I didn’t have any expectations coming into the auditions and the same thing to the finals. I just give it all and leave it all on the stage.”

While he described his wife as an “absolutely amazing woman” and his greatest supporter, Goodall revealed his plans for the future.
“The sky’s the limit,” he told Fox News Digital. “I had no expectations when I entered the auditions or the finals. I just put everything into it and left it all on the stage.”
Goodall then proudly displayed the “America’s Got Talent” card that confirmed he was the winner of the popular competition show.
He plans to continue his janitor duties “for a while,” and “America’s Got Talent” judge Heidi Klum predicted he would receive the “biggest welcoming party” at the school where he works.
At the start of the season, Klum pressed the highly sought-after Golden Buzzer for the singing janitor, granting him a direct pass to the live shows.
“We won, we won!” Klum playfully said to Fox News Digital.
“You push the Golden Buzzer for someone that you believe in… I believed in him. I fell in love with him immediately,” she added. “He just melted my little heart.”
“America’s Got Talent” judge Howie Mandel praised Goodall for his big win.
“America never gets it wrong. They got it right,” Mandel told Fox News Digital.
“It is life changing… Now he’s on stage on the biggest television show, the biggest stage in the world, playing with Journey. Not only does he feel great, but it makes you watching feel great.”
During his audition, Goodall shared that the kids at his school would often hear him sing and compliment his talent. Their encouragement played a big role in inspiring him to audition for the show.
