External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar responded to China’s decision to rename 30 additional locations in Arunachal Pradesh, stating, “Changing names does not alter reality.” He posed a rhetorical question, “If I were to rename your home, would it suddenly become mine?”
Jaishankar reiterated that “Arunachal Pradesh has always been and will remain an integral part of India.” He emphasized that the act of renaming places does not change this fact.
Regarding reports of Chinese encroachments in Ladakh, Jaishankar reaffirmed the presence of Indian forces along the Line of Actual Control. He asserted, “Our armed forces are stationed there, fully aware of their duties.”
In response to Ladakh-based climate activist Sonam Wangchuk’s claims of Chinese encroachments, Jaishankar remarked, “Every individual holds their own perspective.”
